New Wii U Details

Post originally dated: June 2011- Nintendo just announced its newest home console, the Wii U.

Its gamepad looks somewhat big, and to be honest, we have mixed feelings about it.
Yes, the screen could be used for many different purposes, but i cannot shake off the feeling that the Dreamcast already tried to accomplish this years ago.

For now, it appears that there will be a seamless level of interactivity between the controller screen and the television. This includes performing any given action and seeing its results in real time on the big screen.

This is the official Wii U controller:

The controller includes:

- Right and left circle pad
- Control Pad
- Right and left speakers
- Touch screen
- Accelerometer
- Microphone
- Gyroscope support

Wi U Technical Specifications:

1080i, 1080p, 720p, 480p, 480i
Support for HDMI component, S-video as well as composite
Unspecified amount of flash memory; expandable through SD card or external hard drive
IBM Multi-Core CPU
4 USB connections
Compatible with Wii console, games and components.

How do you feel about the console's overall design?
